During the 2020/2021 academic year, three CREDDS PhD students had extended internships at NNSA laboratories: Emmeline Sheu (TAMU) became the first out-of-state user to resume in-person work at the CINT facility at LANL (under the guidance of Kevin Baldwin), Ethan Sprague (U. of Michigan) carried out a remote internship under the guidance of LLNL staff members Gabe Guess and Ibo Matthews, and Marco Echeverria (U. of Connecticut) also had a remote internship at LLNL under the supervision of Alison Saunders.

CREDDS undergraduate researcher wins outstanding presentation award from 2020 online REU (O-REU) program
Taylor Rosen, an undergraduate summer researcher supported by CREDDS, won an outstanding presentation award from the 2020 online REU (O-REU) program at Texas A&M University. Taylor worked under the mentorship of Prof. Justin Wilkerson on a project entitled “Effect of temperature dependent coefficient of thermal expansion on thermal stress weathering in small asteroids.” His presentation may be viewed here.
